Introduction to Khenpo Appey Foundation

Khenpo Appey Foundation (KAF) was established in 2010 to honor the most Venerable Khenchen Appey Rinpoche (1927-2010), an eminent, recognized, and humble Tibetan Buddhist scholar and practitioner who dedicated his life exclusively to the propagation of the Buddhadharma. The foundation was established by Mdm Doreen Goh, a devoted follower and sponsor of Khenchen Appey Rinpoche. Inspired by Khenchen Appey Rinpoche’s vision, KAF is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and enhancement of Buddhist study and practice. KAF’s primary aim is to extend the Buddha’s wisdom and compassion as widely as possible, in order to benefit all beings.

“The compassion of the Buddha is ‘mahakaruna’ or great compassion…His great compassion includes every single being that is not fully enlightened, and it takes on their suffering and the causes of their suffering.”

— Khenpo Appey Rinpoche

Programs

KAF hopes to achieve its objective by raising awareness and garnering support and project funding for its various Buddhist programs. These programs are classified into four categories:

  • Educational programs for monks and laypersons

  • Translation of Tibetan Buddhist texts into various languages

  • Publishing and distribution of Buddhist books, magazines and online publications

  • The general welfare and upkeep of the monastic community, including their living facilities

In providing financial aid and in playing a key supportive role in the running of these programs, KAF hopes that they will allow for Buddhist philosophy to become better understood and integrated with the modern world.

All funds gathered from sponsors and donors will go towards supporting these programs.
